12 noon – 3 p.m - Armistice Day is the anniversary of the symbolic end of World War 1 this event remembers those who were killed during World War 1.
Living History
Featuring ‘Lord Edwards Own’ a group of re-enactors who specialize in recreating historic events which will include display military artifact, uniforms , kit, equipment… explaining to people the various aspects of WW1
Exhibition
The exhibition uses original artifacts, letters, replicas, and interactives to show how the Great War affected the lives of Irish people. Audio visual presentation gives the onlooker an insight into a soldiers' personal experience of war and conflict.
New research on WW1 Casualty list for Athy & District
Those with ancestors who served can now look through the recently compiled Casualty details and view photographs of the WW1 cemeteries where the fallen are buried.
Local military research Clem Roche will be on site to answer any question you may have.
